Remember Nature- A Call for Action by Gustav Metzger
See Gustav Metzger talk about the project.
Untitled tempo-rarity ice, dry pigments, gold leaf, heather I must admit the photos aren't the best of quality as I didn't make a big fuss to document the work. This may reflect an attitude I have often towards my own work, of kind of letting it do its own thing, as I like to keep in mind the transience and the ephemeral of everything. Still, I kind of wish my pretty 'ice cakes' could have lasted a little bit longer. The ice's melting into the 'primordial soup' reminded me of my late grandfather's għalf (fermented cheese and other mysterious things pickled by fishermen to attract shoals) of which his remaining stinky jars are greatly treasured. |
